1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

stopmonke does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. There are no analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no accounts.

All data created by your use of the app — focus sessions, streaks, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (Hive database and SharedPreferences). It never leaves your device.

3. Permissions we use and why

stopmonke requests the following Android permissions to function:

• Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — used to detect when a blocked app is brought to the foreground, so the focus overlay can be shown. This data is read locally in real-time and never stored or transmitted.
• Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — used to draw the monk focus overlay on top of blocked apps when you open them during a focus session. No content from other apps is accessed or recorded.
• Notification Listener Access — used to suppress notifications from apps you have chosen to block during a focus session. Notification content is never read, stored, or transmitted. The service only cancels (dismisses) notifications from your selected blocked apps while a session is active.
• Foreground Service — keeps the focus timer running reliably while you work, even if the app is in the background.
• Post Notifications — displays a persistent status notification during an active focus session, as required by Android for foreground services.

4. Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data in the first place. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or data brokers involved in this app.

5. Data retention and deletion

All app data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by going to Android Settings → Apps → stopmonke → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app. We have no copy of your data and cannot recover it.

6. Children's privacy

stopmonke is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
